Hyperbaric
Oxygen Therapy
Book Now
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a simple, non-invasive treatment that uses a pressurized oxygen chamber to help the body repair tissue and treat a multitude of different conditions.
Damaged tissue requires an increase in oxygen to heal quickly and fight off infections, which is exactly what hyperbaric oxygen therapy provides.
Treatment involves resting in a pressurized oxygen chamber while breathing in 100% pure oxygen. This service offers very few side effects outside of feeling a little pressure in the ears or sinuses due to the change in air pressure. What is
hyperbaric oxygen therapy
used for?
There are a surprising number of issues that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can treat. This easy, painless treatment increases the effectiveness of white blood cells, which can reduce swelling and kill off harmful bacteria, making it a useful treatment for many different conditions, including anemia, soft tissue infections, gangrene, carbon monoxide poisoning, and wounds that are not healing properly. However, many of our patients choose to utilize hyperbaric oxygen therapy while undergoing intense athletic training to increase performance, bounce back from a workout or competition, or recover from an injury.
How
should I prepare
for hyperbaric oxygen treatment?
Patients who come in for hyperbaric oxygen therapy should ensure that they do not use any cosmetic or hair products, perfume, deodorant, lotion, hairspray, or petroleum-based products. We will also ask that you remove any jewelry or other accessories, and you will be given a cotton gown to wear during treatment. For maximum effectiveness, it is recommended that patients avoid drinking soda or alcoholic beverages on the day of their treatment and avoid smoking while receiving oxygen treatments, as these habits can interfere with the transportation of oxygen within the body.
